Wow. I had to look that one up. I thought it was going to be ESP, but I was surprised to find there's a line for S-10 (1994-2004) under FSP. I'm not positive about the class legality of your set back plates and pinion angle correction (shims, I assume). Everything else that you've listed is OK, just...

I read the rules as saying a bone stock '04 Cavalier is classed as a G Stock car. I get this because wikipedia tells me it would have an Ecotec engine and GS has a line under General Motors that reads "FWD models (4-cyl Turbo, 6-cyl, Ecotec, or Quad 4 engines, NOC)". NOC means "not otherwise classed...

Sounds like SSM to me, rather than EM. If I'm right, that's good news, as the SSM PAX is .881 and EM's PAX is .928. Regardless of classing, that sounds like a potentially very fun car to autocross.

Yeah, I agree, Mark is definitely on his game. In addition to his ProSolo and Tour results, look how he clobbered us in our Regional event on 5/19. That he beat us all so soundly on such a non-ponycar course was really impressive. I was a little busy in T&S, but I was trying to learn by observation ...

A 2003 Focus SVT with typical aftermarket shocks/struts would currently be in H Stock. IIRC, it was a G Stock car through about 2009 or so and has been reclassed down to H Stock nowadays. Theoretically, it should be highly competitive in H Stock.

Michael- Listen to Jim. He knows what he's talking about. As far as tire pressures, not only do you want to optimize them for lateral grip, but higher pressures will protect those sidewalls. We really don't want anyone walking away from their first event with damaged tires and thinking they never wa...

First off, Welcome! We want you to come out, be safe and have a good time. My first suggestion for the event is to wear sunscreen. You'll be standing around on a somewhat reflective parking lot for longer than you are probably imagining right now. You're also going to want more air in your front tir...

Eddie's right wrt your front wheels maxing at 8" width in SCCA SOLO stock class. In addition, it's my understanding that unless you have the full option package that came with the 10" wheels, then you are going to have to run 9" in the rear. Keep in mind, though, that I'm not normally a stock class ...

For Ozark Mountain Region members only. Let me know in advance and I'll bring any of these to the next board meeting. Just return it to me at the following meeting. One at a time per customer, please. Thanks. Oh, and just a reminder - you don't have to be a board member to attend a board meeting. Sp...

Stephen- I can't imagine your chassis flexes enough for a roll cage to help significantly. Instead, it'd add more weight up high, making it slower. Your car is also already fighting a very bad power to weight ratio - this'll just make it worse. I understand wanting to be safe. In reality, though, yo...

Sorry, but that'd put you in Street Mod. Your planned wheels and tires are both too wide for your car's ST class. I don't remember any provision in ST for changing hubs and wheel bolt patterns. I also don't think you can change master cylinders in ST. Are brakes really an issue for your car stock? G...
