The Ft. Worth Solo Tour Saga

Hello Y'all (said with a Texas twang), Ah yes, national competition. What a reality check! I journeyed to Texas last week to dive into the big leagues for the first time in about 15 years. I had planned to run the test-n-tune event on Friday just to get warmed up a bit for the event. Well, turns out...

Course set-up

Hey Guys,

Actually, it is me and Mark R. (black Corvette roadster) who are setting up the course. Are we still at Ducks for next week at this point? And who should I talk to about the trailer so we can rendezvous and start work on the course at an early hour?

Last autocross

Hey Guys, Overall it was a good autocross. Thanks to all of you that worked hard to make sure it came off just fine. Yes, all didn't go perfect but everyone I talked to had a good time. I think I helped contribute to the results difficulties because I forgot to check the cards very closely and the n...

Last Sunday was a great autocross. My congratulations to all of you for the wonderful outcome. I know many have been putting in a lot work and planning. It showed! I also trained for SSS. I did it with Bobby 1st heat. I am undecided on the KC Divisional. If I don't go, I'd probably be willing to do ...

mpg to grin ratio

OK, I'll weigh in on this one. I vote for my '92 Toyota MR2. It got about 30 mpg. It had good torque, great spacing in the gears, and great seats (for my backside at least). But, more importantly, it had Toyota quality so that nothing ever broke, therefore it's cost per autocross mile was very low. ...

Solo Safety Class

Hey Ya'll,

OK then, it's set. The SSS class will be at Schultz and Dooley's Too at 2PM on Saturday. If it gets crowded, we'll just deal with it. See you there.

Solo Safety School meeting place and time

Hi Guys, I have heard from Rodger. We will meet at Schultz and Dooley's Too at the corner of National and Primrose. I don't know where that is so I'll need to get some directions. This is where the monthly OMR board meetings are held so someone out there probably can give directions for us out-of-to...

Solo Safety Class

Hi Guys, I still haven't heard from Rodger on the exact place and time on the 26th. I still expect it to be that afternoon and run for about two hours. I don't think there is any limit to the number in the class, but if there are more than 6 perhaps we should know that. I know about myself, Mark R.,...

Update on Solo Safety class

I have heard from Rodger and he will do the class on Sat., Jan. 26. The time will probably be some time in the early afternoon (2 or 3 PM). He is scouting places to have it in Springfield. Could even be his home. More info as it becomes available.

I'll contact Rodger and work out the where and when for that day, and then post it.

Solo Safety Class

Hey Guys, I just read in another post about scheduling a Solo Safety Steward class in conjunction with an autocross or a test and tune session. I couldn't reply there so I am starting a new post. I know of three people including myself who want to become licensed as SSS. It looks as if there are oth...

August results and Autocrosser of the Year

Hey Jonathan, I have figured out Autocrosser of the Year points as much as I can, and I think the winner could be very much in doubt, depending upon the PAX results from the August event. Would you please send out any info you have about the August PAX results. A couple of points here or there can m...
