Re: 2017 OMR SCCA SOLO Event #7 7/17/2017 At Crowder College

Yes, I see we have a difference. Am I correct that points are awarded this way?
1st, 15
2nd, 12
3rd, 10
4th, 9
5th, 8
6th, 7
7th, 6
8th, 5
9th, 4
10th, 3
11th, 2
12th and below, 1 point

This is the way I remember the bylaws; maybe my memory is faulty. I'll look at my figures again.

Re: 2017 OMR SCCA SOLO Event #7 7/17/2017 At Crowder College

Hey Everyone, Well, my feet have just now dried out and my shoes may be dry by the weekend. To those who left before runs started---and I can understand the frustration of having to wait for who-knows-how-long for the lightning to clear---you missed a very fun event. It was worth the long pause. Not...

OMR Solo #6, 8/6/17

Hey All, That was a fun format today and I hope we can do it again....maybe a couple of times a year. Yes, I know it is more hassle and it takes longer because of one more changeover, setting a different course, and double entering in the computer. But it brought out some different strategies. With ...

Re: 2017 OMR SCCA SOLO Event #4 6/11/2017 At Crowder College

I want to congratulate Mark Foley. Not only was he the top PAX from Sunday's event, but he was first in class at both a recent Pro Solo and a Solo Tour. I didn't realize this until last night. Well done Mark! Mark's PAX win was by about .8 sec., a good gap. Got some good feedback on the course. I re...

Re: 2017 OMR SCCA SOLO Event #3 5/21/2017 At Crowder College

A great day autocrossing! As Scott noted, very close competition with the top 13 in PAX within .4 sec. It's more fun when it's like that. Congrats to Brad Holiday for top PAX, and to Kent Willer, for not only a good course but for being just a tiny tick behind Brad. And for Charlie Holt for a great ...

Re: Event# 6 of the 2016 OMRSCCA Solo Season - 8/28

Hey All, Sam, you're awesome! Nine-tenths in the clear on PAX from second place. Well done! Thanks to all that made it happen....Kent for the course, Scott for the organizing, all the rest who set up, took down, and worked. Good to see four out-of-towners in the top 10 in PAX. OMR events are high-qu...

Re: Event #5 July 24, 2016

Man, was it hot out there. No, not as hot as it could have been but plenty hot enough. At one point I thought I saw flames coming out from under Mark Foley's tires but I guess that was just because he was going so fast. I was discombobulated from the start. First run....no numbers on the car and I f...

Re: 2016 OMR SCCA Solo #3 "Autocross Mayhem"

Hey All, When I arrived at our site today and had a chance to walk the course, I just knew that there would be no way to could do well. It looked like a power course, where about 400 hp would be just right. Notwithstanding that I felt like crap from way too much activity the previous two days....inc...

Whoa! Way to go Bobby! Put the rest of us on the trailer.

Only time for a quick comment here.....great course, great folks, safe event....let's do it again next month.

Thanks to all the regulars who make things happen so well and to all the volunteers who helped with set-up and tear-down.

Re: 2016 OMR SCCA Solo #1 "March Madness"

Wow! It looks like there is a changing of the guard in OMR autocross. Kent Willer 1st in PAX with Don Wilson and Scott Woosley close behind. Way to go guys! You all deserve it because you've been working on your autocrossing for awhile. I am so sorry that I couldn't be there but I didn't feel good a...

Re: OMR SOLO Event #9 :: 10/04/2015 - Neosho

Wow, how much different could two courses be that were designed by the same guy. Sunday I was pedaling just as fast as I could with my 121 HP......going to 3rd halfway down the first section and staying in 3rd gear up to the 2nd left sweeper in the far corner. Then hitting the rev-limiter in 2nd gea...

Re: SOLO Event #8 :: 10/03/2015 - Neosho

Thanks Sam. I thought maybe Sam would design a course that would flow nicely for a turbo Miata.....you know, sweeping corners, fairly narrow gates, etc. But no......we get a course that was pretty technical with lots of oddly spaced gates. I thoroughly enjoyed it but it took a lot of brain work to g...

Hey Y'all, That was a great event yesterday! It was good to see all the folks from NEOKLA as well as those from other regions come. Sorry about the rain for all you first heat drivers, but I'm glad the rain stopped and you got some dry runs even if the track was still a bit damp in spots. I apprecia...

Re: Choosing "street" tires for 2015

Well, it looks like I've rolled the dice. Yesterday, after much study, checking national tour results, and conversation, I ordered a set of Bridgestone RE71R tires for autocross from the Tire Rack. In yesterday's mail came the latest issue of Grassroots Motorsport with a tire test of....you guessed ...

It was a good weather, good course, good organization, good people kind of day. Thanks again to all the folks who do the nuts and bolts of putting this together and making it work....Matt, Justin, Scott, Jim, and whoever I left out. It was also a windy, grit in the eyes, pollen up the nose, challeng...
