DIY vehicle towing platforms

I'm bumbled through 13 years of SCCA involvement without a trailer or tow vehicle, often wishing I had a truck and trailer. If you're cheaper than the solutions out there, you can get creative.

This guy turned a diesel box truck into a car hauler, and even skirted California registration laws by claiming it was an "RV."

If you want something a little more...conventional, here's a thread on a guy who built his own lightweight trailer out of regular materials. Handy if you weld or know someone.

The downside to hauling cars in anonymous box vans is that you'd look like 80% of the villains on CHiPs.

There was a guy that used to race at Mo-Kan that had an old U-Haul that he used to transport his AMC Hornet. Always thought it was an excellent idea.
