Ozark Mountain Region SCCA

Does anybody know of or have any connections that would allow me to get my 225/50/14 Kuhmo 710's mounted to some 14X6's tomorrow, Saturday the 7th?

I'm driving down from Columbia tomorrow morning and looking for a place in the Springfield area that can get these mounted for me for Sunday's event.

Well no luck getting them mounted. I went to three shops and none had the proper equipment to shoehorn a 225's onto a 6" wheel. Two shops attempted to mount them but couldn't. Looks like I'll be running streets tomorrow.

Where do the Miata people get their's done?

mitchem tire I use the one in Ozark. I was only running 215's though.

sorry I didnt see this earlier. check out wilson tire on the corner of mt vernon st and kansas expy. in Springfield. he did my 205/55/14's onto 14x5.5 inch wheels. he is a pro, though his shop looks like something out of the 60's, he's been doing it for 25 years. If he CAN'T do it, you can bet no one else can either. He is also the cheapest in town for mount and balance too. A total professional. cheap on tires too. I bought my falken azenis 615's through him and I spent the same as I would through vulcantire.com, except mine were mounted and balanced on my old wheels for that price.

They're mounted and ready for April's event. I got them done thanks to Nick's suggestion to take them to his shop http://www.genuinesaab.com. They were definitely a stretch but should be really fun to drive on. Thanks for everyone's help and suggestions.

If you can get 225's on a 6" rim, I'm going to put 265 or 275's on my 7.5" rims. I can't wait to get me a set of steam-roller R-comp's!

Nick's shop does tires? why didn't ya say so! Thats great! I work the next block down from their shop. That ought to make it convenient

Despite the less than ideal wheel width it has been proven that the 225/50/14 will outrun the 205/55/14 on the Miata on an auto-x course. 2007's ES winner at nationals was a Miata using this setup.

Give up response, gain grip. That's the name of the game in classes with wheel width limits. Fit as much tire you can get up to temperature.
