I was wondering the same thing. The land still shows to be under contract as of 9/3/08. It went under contract on 6/23/08. Is this going to happen or just a pipe dream? Does anyone know if any more meetings are scheduled concerning the track?

I have the same concerns. I just wonder if someone will under cut them.
Lucas Oil has a ton of money and has talked track expansion for the last two years. The downside is the motorsports park expantion would be in Wheatland  !

9/11/08 Still shows Under Contract. Does anyone have any current information on this track? The original press releases said that the property should close with in a month and we are past that... Does anyone on this forum know the two developers from Ozark? If so ask for some updates and suggest they setup an informational meeting for all interested racers. Or find out if they will be meeting with the Marshfield City Planners any time soon so we could set in on the meeting.

9/18/08 Still Under Contract. :? I can't believe that no one knows anything about this. If someone knows the developers then call them and find out what is going on. The only reason I can see that the land hasn't closed by now is finacial problems. Please someone give us some info!!!

Sadly as it is, this is what happens to most new road courses.

We have been waiting on ours to start for 2 years now.

Looks like the dream of a track in S.W. Missouri is dead. The land is no longer undercontract, and is back on the market :-( I knew this was too good to be true! Stupid me for getting my hopes up.

Bad time for a recession.

On the plus side, the cost of land and construction isn't going up. Contractors would be happy to build anything, anywhere at this point.

The planning was sound. Maybe wait a while and let the money come back.

roadcourse

Went to a presentation on the new road course planned for Clark, Mo.
called The Junction. This is the one that Carl Edwards Dad is part of.
They plan on starting on the fuel station, store first, & then do the rest in phases. They are planning on Road Course,( Looks like the same
design as Mid America Motorplex in Council Bluffs Iowa), 1/4 mile drag,
gokart race track, lake for ski jumping & jet ski races, Motocross
track, along with other tracks. www.junctionproject.com.
They are also looking for investers @ $15,000 per unit. It is going to
be a $45 million project & are waiting to see if there TIF funding is
going to be aproved. The property is located about 20 miles North
of Columbia MO. on 63 Hwy. They hope to start in Jan or Feb 09
depending on Tif. The property contains 440 acres.

Looks like? Looks like someone cut and paste MAM. It's exactly the same... I love MAM, but if you're going to cut a paste a track design, pick one farther away...

Why does every track project have to cost millions of dollars? A few guys a dozer and some land should do the trick. Keep the Insurance and Lawyers out of it.
Last time I saw Carl Edwards' dad, he was blasted drunk at Lucas Oil Speedway's bar!
