If I'm not mistaken, a "team" of competitors pools their PAX points against other teams throughout the season. Whichever team has the most points at the end of the season wins.

Could be fun. I'm in.

How big are the teams? Who picks the teams?

A few captains chosen at random followed by a fantasy league style draft?

Class warfare? ESP versus Street Mod?

Axis versus Allies? Japanese / German / Italian marques versus American / English brands?

Hey Y'all,

I hope this is not like when I was a kid, when sides were chosen for softball. I always had to play right field. Argh!

I dunno about your childhood, but when I was a-growin' up, we played Baseball! 8) "Softball" was for girls.........

Teh Editz:
Speakin' of that - I suggest (JUST to make it interesting!) that there be NO Husband/Wife "couples" allowed on any one team (if it can be avoided). A little Spousal Competition can be just the thing to really stir the pot.

So long as it doesn't get "*out of hand", that is........

*(for the purposes of this argument "out of hand" is defined as The Wife beating me at my own game)

ok, i'll take a shot.

1. 5 members on a team.

2. each member from a different car class (hence no 2-driver/same class cars on the same team)

3. average fastest pax from each member to get team score.

4. when a team member misses an event, use slowest member's pax to plug in.

5. >2 members absent from an event, disqualifies the team for that event.

6. season championship calculated like the individual championship.

7. must have clever name, logo, and preferably t-shirts. body-painting an acceptable substitute.

all provisions offered up for your debate.

need to make sure there's no way to game the scoring, eg 4 fast guys team with 2 guys who never show up.

we also ought to take a look at how the allies/axis comps are run, maybe there's an idea in there we could use. (swiss cars not allowed, for example)

occurs to me we'd need good computer/calculation support, so we'd know the standings during the course of competition. no fun if we have to wait 2 days.

i also like korry's draft idea. w/rotation, would make sure the teams are pretty well balanced, for more intense competition.

(i got that "intense" from a coin-op machine in the gas station restroom. liked the sound of it.)

yet another thought: if somebody has all dnf's, so that their fastest time is a dnf, we should score them like rally cross. +10 seconds? i don't recall.

or maybe even use the slowest time for the event overall, plus a couple secs, as substitute for the dnf, on the theory that slowest finish is still faster than no finish.
