If anyone has a chance....... (autox with Porsche Club)

Just had a chance to run autox with the Porsche Club of America, Mid South Region folks yesterday at Memphis International Airport. I know it is pretty far for all of us, but just if you just so happen (or find an excuse) to be in that area (like me) when they are holding the event, I would strongly recommend you to attend. It's very relax atmosphere. There is no PAX time, just drive and see your raw times. $20 to attend. Normally you get 10 runs, but they didn't have the place long, so we got 7 runs instead. The thing I like the most (only when they have it at the raceway) is that they use a portion of the track as a major part of autox course. There were no cones in that part of the course. Basically, you just drive like you are in the race track. I'm sure some of the car would get up to 75mph or more (I got my miata close to 70 mph). I don't think SCCA would allow this. All in all it's a blast! The length of the course is about a mile long. Average time is between 1:27 - 1:40 minutes. Surprisingly, the fastest time went to the 3rd gen miata.
