Registration is open:
http://www.scca.com/events/news.cfm?eid=6995&cid=51903
TOPEKA, Kan. (June 2, 2014) – SCCA has announced that registration for the 42nd Tire Rack SCCA Solo® National Championship, scheduled for Sept. 1-5 at the Lincoln (Neb.) Airpark, opened this past Sunday.

Entry for the event, which includes two days of competition for each driver, is $170 for all classes except the junior classes. Registration for junior drivers is $85. All entry feels are due immediately upon registration. The late registration fee will be $308, starting Aug. 1.

[...]

In the past few years, entries have been near the 1,200 mark. That number is expected to remain consistent, making the Solo Nationals the largest motorsports competition in the world. The enthusiasm for the event is clear with 108 drivers already having signed up, as registration has been open for just over 24 hours.

Paddock spot reservation should go live around the beginning of July.

I'll be running a Miata in E-Street (likely mine) on Thursday/Friday. What are everyone's run/work days?

Dad and I will compete in my DP Mazda. Martin is going in his ASP Nissan. All three of us are Thursday/Friday.

Martin might entertain the idea of a co-driver. I'm sure he will sticker up so some tire money might land someone a neat ride.

If the right runoffs deal comes through, I might back out. But I've already put in for vacation and I'll sign up soon.

Cool. We'll need to make sure our ducks (cars?) are in a row when the paddock spot system goes online.

Hoping to do my first Nats this year (yes really, never been).

ESP runs Tues - Wed.

I'm planning to arrive Sunday afternoon so that I may partake in all that should be partaken of during one's first trip to Nats.

Bring a bicycle. It's the biggest Solo paddock in the world, and you don't want to walk back to your spot if you forget a tire gauge or something.

If you are there on Monday evening and Speedway Motors does its usual hospitality, make it a point. Their Museum of American Speed is flat out amazing.

Work assignments fall on the same days you run, unless you indicate that you are free to work on other days.

I have a double room reserved at the Country Inn & Suites, which is the nicer of the hotels nearest the site, for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Half of the bill would be $194 if anyone local is interested in sharing expenses. I booked several months ago as soon as the run/work days were posted on SCCA.com.

Nope. The SCCA did away with the upper-level event entry prerequisite a few years ago.

Speedway Museum is not the location of the Monday Welcome party location this year from what I heard. You can check and see if they offer normal tour hours, definitely worth it.

If anyone local is interested, chime in soon. I'm throwing the offer to roommates outside the area before long.

Looks like the room is sorted.

If you are on the fence and thinking about going, let me know by tomorrow afternoon if you want to paddock with OMR and friends. Send me your SCCA number ASAP.
