On Oct 13th 6 OMR Corvettes travelled to Effingham, Ill for the Mid-America Swap Fest & Autocross. Mid-America in the mecca for us Corvettes guys wth any and all aftermarket parts you can ever dream of.
We all visited the Swap Meet hoping find the ultimate bargain, with Clark, Herb & Wayne displaying some of the Corvette Treasurers.
The autocross was limited to only 40 people, but you could drive any type of car you wished. It ran very smoothly and Mike (owner of Mid America) promised more asphalt for next year.
The course was not very forgiving as it was a little over one and a half car widths wide with cones in the middle! So if you got off the narrow pavement, as many of us did, then it quckly became the "agricultural driving experience". A small rain shower in the middle, slowed cars, but it quickly dried out for the final runs.
OMR was represented very well with Herb Faulstich leading the charge, followed by Gregg McNabb, Jesse Faulstich, Clark Fickle, Brian Acuff and Dave Acuff.
