KC Region Evo UPDATE

Post by snaponbob » Thu Dec 06, 2007 2:44 pm

UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1) There will be an Evo Challenge on Saturday April 5. This is open to anyone that has completed Phase 1 AND Phase 2.
2) ANY participants of any Evo modules at KC in April 2008 will have a free pass into the April 6 Solo. BONUS!!!!
3) The contract has been sent off to Evolution Performance Driving Schools which will cause the dates to be "etched in stone" and posted to their schedule on the Evo site. I would suggest NOT waiting until late February or March to commit. As soon as Evo posts the dates to their site I will be notifying all the people that have already committed (about 16 so far). At that point I will be asking for deposits to guarantee their spots.
4) We have NOT capped the attendance level. YET. I have e-mailed Evo asking what they recommend in order NOT to negatively impact "seat time" and instructor "face time".

I spoke with Mike "Junior" Johnson today. We are officially OFFICIAL for the April dates. Evo is ramping up a new web site so they do not have a 2008 schedule posted yet. Again, it is Friday April 4 for Phase 1, Saturday for Phase 2, and a separate Evo Challenge, and Sunday April 6 for a KC Region Solo event. All participants will have free entry for the Solo. (SCCA membership is required, but temp permit will be available for non-SCCA members.) Rooms rates will be discussed later this week.

As of now, Junior will probably be teaching as well a couple local regular Evo instructors. We are trying to secure a couple more "name brand" instructors. The line up will be announced when all are committed. Currently we have 11 of 15 Challenge slots reserved. Phase 1 has 7 of 12, and Phase 2 is at 8 of 12. If we go past 12 on either or both of the phases we will retain another Evo instructor to maintain a 6:1 student/instructor ratio. Shortly e-mails will be going out to all who have reserved slots for deposits. Final payments will be due NLT than 2 weeks before the event. KC Region is not currently set up for PayPal or credit cards so check or M.O.s will be required.

Questions? Please e-mail or call me. Thanks. (Hope everybody got through the ice storm without incident.)

I really want to attend an EVO school next season but I think that this date will be too early for me as I will be busy moving as well as probably still preparing my car.

I assume that EVO will have events later in the season as well?

As soon as Evo has their new web site up and running they will post a schedule for 2008.

MORE ************ KC Region Evo UPDATE

Post by snaponbob » Sun Dec 16, 2007 9:40 am

During Evo Schools timing equipment is used in Phase 1 and Challenge, but not Phase 2. If there is enough interest in the following idea, we can probably do it.

If you have previously completed Phase 1, or if you want to take Phase 2 AND Challenge, we have the ability to offer Phase 1 AND Phase 2 on Friday, and run Phase 2 AND Challenge on Saturday. SO if you are now registered for Phase 2 and want to take the Challenge as well, we can do that for you if there are enough people that want to, and we still have enough Phase 2 students for each day. Those people would then take Phase 2 on Friday and Challenge on Saturday!!

Confused? Hope not. If this sounds good to Phase 2 students, please e-mail me at snaponbob@comcast.net. I will track the results and keep everybody informed. There is plenty of time to make this happen.

If you guys don't do this school you will be waxed buy the guys that do.

If you truly want to "Get fast" this is your chance. I started right there in Spfd in 97 and got waxed by all the local guys all the time. Then took Phase 1 in 04 I trophied that same year and I aint anything special. Took Phase 2 last spring and didn't trophy due to a cone hitting issue on day 1 but i did set 3rd fastest time in class on day 2. Im now doing the challenge. The challenge is a name for the 3rd school. They tape the lower part of the windshield off (at some point) to Force you to look ahead. it is expensive however it is in-fact better than any modification you can do to your car.

So question is,,, are you sick and tired of getting your A$$ handed to you?
I certainly was.

taking it early in the year gives you the opportunity to work those new skill's through the season.

Thanks for the endorsement of whta we are doing, and what Evolution Performance Driving is all about. http://autocross.com/evolution/modules/news/ While it is a great education for those that have not taken Evo courses, it is equally valuable for those that have done many Evo schools and are already National level drivers. Many of those that have registered have done numerous Evo schools in the past.

Your timing is quite a coincidence. Almost all the deposits are in. We have only one slot for Challenge, one slot for Phase 1, and 3 slots for Phase 2 available. Then we will take back up reservations. If the few that have not sent deposits do not do so by early January, the back up slots will move up. Think about folks. It is money well spent, and fun too.
