Ozark Mountain Region SCCA

Hey Y'all,

I want to express my appreciation for all those OMR members and non-members that pitched in on the autocross yesterday. By all acounts it was a success. The weather cooperated, people had a good time, we had a bunch of fun runs, it was safe, and folks came from four states. We even had Howard Duncan come and run, the Director of SCCA's solo program, as well as Brian Harmer, a SCCA solo tech assistant. The surface of the lot turned out to be....weird, I think. It was coarse but not very abrasive, and I noticed some treaded tires working much better than R tires. Of course, I might just be making excuses since Scott Creech drove very well and beat me in F Stock. Way to go Scott! I want to thank Mark Rountree and Opie Viets who helped greatly in brain storming, planning, and course and site set up. I especially want to thank Jim Rowland and Matt Longpine, who really know how to run an event the way an event should be run, and can manage all those pesky electrons. Howard Duncan even commented on how well it was running and that the event was helping to rekindle his enthusiasm. And thanks to PSU and the PSU SAE organization for helping get things arranged and letting us use their site.

I forgot to mention thanks to Justin and Sarah Huffman who came early and worked the waiver station and etc. (and let me take a fun run), and to Curtis who came over after the event to get the trailer. (Directions? Who needs directions?)

If I forgot to mention someone who needs to be thanked, whack me on the head (gently) the next time you see me.

You forgot to thank yourself - for all the work you put in to make this happen. It WAS a rousing success, by just about any standard I can think of.

Only ONE disappointment comes to mind: We didn't get to see the FSAE car run, and the PSU FSAE Team was the only Team there. That seriously blew chunks, as I wanted to see that thing(s) haul bootie around the course.

Six runs, lunch break, and plenty of time for fun runs. It takes a group effort to make that happen, and that's what we had.

Howard remarked that we made good use of the lot. Entertaining course.

I'd go again. Another one next year? Neosho is the only site that's closer to me. I hadn't driven the SE-R much, and it was a nice wind-down after Nationals.

Bud, THANK YOU for planning such a great event! And many thanks to everyone who put forth so much effort to make it run smoothly. I had a great time! Justin & I are anxious for next year's season and can't believe this one is over already.

It ran one lap during lunch, (while Charlie Holt was walking the course), ran a 44.something. I had a great day. I was upset about being raw timed by a c stock miata, untill I found out who the driver was. Nice course, left some time out there, couldn't get the finish right. Can't wait for next season! Good work everybody

to Bud and OMR I want to say thanks for the great event! Howard Duncan and I are still talking about the event because it was such a blast.

I am a Pitt State alumni and actually lived in the dorms right there by that lot so when I heard there was going to be an event there I said no matter what I am going to it. I had my doubts on a course there since I knew it wasn't the biggest lot but I have to kudos to the course designers. That was a wonderful course for that lot! Of course it helps that this event was the best I had driven all year! It was also nice to meet some of you. I go to Kansas and KC region events whenever they are held and National events of course so I only see and meet the same people every event so it is always great to meet the people that keep the regional level of SCCA Solo going. Again I thank everyone for a great event and hope that you have another one there because I know I will be there for sure and I think Howard would love to go too! If anything else for Chicken Annies (that is how I initially got Howard to come down)
