Drivers and Car Numbers

Post by Thorox » Tue Aug 26, 2014 7:47 pm

So, if a driver changes car and class mid-season, should they run the same number as previous, or a new number (different car), or does it matter?

The primary reason for running the same # all season long is to make it easier to score the Autocrosser of the Year points at the end of the year if contenders run different cars, but since you don't have your name in your signature I don't know if you would even have a chance that this :D .

Secondarily we run exclusive #'s to make it less likely for T/S computer and backup persons to make a mistake. Trust me this is huge and has saved us countless hours of straightening out results.

That being said if you really want to change your # to another that isn't being used then there is no rule against this, but your are welcome to run the same #.

Okay we have only been to two races this season, so... I don't think the points race is a concern.

Thanks!
