What class am I going to be in?

Post by CivicSiguy » Tue Apr 29, 2008 9:25 pm

I just installed a CAI on my 08' Si. I think it bumps me into STX class.

However, I'm also ordering the following:

28mm rear sway bar
front/rear camber kit
header
exhaust
springs
ECU reflash

I want to make sure I don't go into a modified class. I decided not to do the throttle body spacer, because from how I read the official rules, any changes to the throttle body result in going to a modified class.

Can somebody shed some light on this??

I assumed since I was GS, I would class in STX if I upgraded my air intake. I could be wrong...is it STS???

STX is right.

No mechanical/torsen/helical limited-slip car is allowed in STS. If the current Civic Si had an open diff or a viscous fluid-type diff like my SE-R from the factory, it would meet the rules for STS.

Easy way to think of it is -
STX is SM (street modified) but with real street tires.

Now if you delved into Street Prepared you can tinker with the intake, injectors, etc ... just the long block has to remain stock. LSDs are allowed in SP. And you get to use real R compounds.
