WTB: sport compact car sub-$2k

Post by JimR » Thu Apr 24, 2014 12:02 pm

Long shot, but I'll post in case anyone has a lead on something not already on Craigslist. My dad needs transportation and is an enthusiast, but it needs to be cheap and without headaches.

Preferred:
- Under $2,000
- Manual
- Working heat & A/C
- Sport compact, wagon, or hatchback
- Reliable inline four style vehicle that needs little

Examples: '91+ Escort GT/Protege, Sentra/200SX, Escort ZX2, Zetec Focus, Corolla FX16/GT-S, etc.

You can't touch a good running FX16 for less than $5K.

Brought home a 2000 Corolla CE 5-speed. It's ugly, as in ugly even at night, but it was cheap.

Need to get my hands on some front turn signal corner signal lenses and a set of struts. If anyone has a hookup on eighth-gen Corolla pieces, let me know.
