I have a question concerning weekend membership discounts, and the referral program. Can these discounts be used in unison?
Example:

65.00 indvidual
-30.00 2 weekend member
-15.00 member referral
=20.00 is this correct?

Filling Out The Membership Application

A single person is eligible for one of two annual memberships - "First Gear" or "Regular." "First Gear" is available if you are age 24 or younger. "Regular" is for people 25 and older.

The cost of a "Regular" membership is $75 per year....total National & Regional dues....start with that figure before applying any discounts. I think the total dues for "First Gear" is $45 if you are going that route.

The cost of either membership can be reduced if the applicant has "Weekend Membership" fees to apply. (I don't know for sure, but I believe you can "trade in" up to two weekend memberships. Certainly, you can use one as a discount.)

The "member referral" section of the application is aimed at an EXISTING/CURRENT member who signs up a new member. The exisitng member earns a discount on his next annual dues payment. I do not think that section of the application applies in your case and should be left blank.

In any case, fill out the application the best you can - I don't know if you are working with a hard copy or working on line. If something is incorrect, the SCCA National office will let you know.

Thanks for considering membership in SCCA. I'm sure you will find it's a great place to play with cars!

The scca sent me a paper copy about a month ago, it lists individual $65.00 (includes regoinal dues).
First gear does not apply in my case.
The referral states that by listing the member that intersted you in scca,i recieve a $15 discount, and referring member gets reduced renewal .
Can i use both weekend and referral discounts ?

I don't know the answer to your question about the referal, but you should be able to dial 800-770-2055, ask for "membership services", and get an answer.

Be sure to act fast as I believe the weekend membership credits expire 60 days from the event they were purchased at.

Jason -

I have reviewed the "membership referral" section of the SCCA membership application, and I read it the same way you do. YOU get a $15 discount and the member who referred you gets something when he/she next renews. Just list the referring member's name and his/her membership number.

The application I reviewed (on SCCA National's website - www.scca.com ) listed an individual membership at $75. If your form from the National office says $65, so be it.

The only question in my mind is how many weekend membership fees are you allowed to subtract....I don't know at the moment because I heard at one point earlier this year that weekend membership fee discounts expired after a certain amount of time. However, later I heard that the SCCA membership dept. was taking a liberal attitude in the matter.

Having said all this....I don't see a problem with your math in your first post in this thread. I say again....if you make a mistake, the National office will be in touch with you.

Cordially,
Ted Wells
