OK, now you've got my heart pumping! Although I never owned any of the ones you depicted, they are good ones. I notice all Mustangs and have since I saw the first pictures in '64. (Yeah, I was around then.) A juco friend bought one of the first '64s, a white 289 4-sp coupe, which he immediately started to tweak. My first of four, soon to be five, was a black '67 GT fastback, 4-sp with the K motor, now very rare. I was into drag racing at the time, but autocrossed it in '69--two runs. Very poorly I'm certain. I guess you could say it was at least a start.
Thanks to FoMoCo for keeping the Mustang even when they didn't sell very well. And to keeping it more or less true to the original concept. A toast to Lee Iacocca!

Bud, looks like they do some very nice work. That '69 Mach 1 CJ 428 they have that needs restored is an example of why I'll never own one. $24,500 and needs everything. It's probably worth it since it's a 428, but holy smokes that price makes my butt pucker...

During college in Tulsa, I had an occasional summer job unloading the railroad auto racks down at the railroad yard. I was there the day the first '68 Cobra Jets came in. There were a number of guys unloading the cars, but I did everything I could to time it so that my turn would be with one of the two CJs. Dang it, I just missed getting to drive one off the rack. That was as close as I ever came to driving a CJ.

Yup, that picture brings back good memories. I had an '89 LX 5.0 hatch that I bought to autocross, and for my wife to drive back and forth to work. The story goes that she was giving up her '86 Toyota Celica GTS for the Mustang, and she insisted that only the new-for-'89 Bright Red would do. Well Shaffar Ford in Joplin didn't have any in stock, but Doug Shaffar worked with us to find one... in Breau Bridge, Louisiana! Usually being up for an adventure, we planned to ride a bus down there, pick it up, and have a mini-vacation on the way home. It just so happened that there was an ice storm that evening, so that the bus couldn't continue down 71, but had to take a detour through Tulsa, Okla. City, and into Dallas. We stayed with a friend there, and the next day hopped on Amtrak to Houston, spent a short night in a hotel, and took the train the next day to Lafayette, LA. Then a 10 min. courtesy ride got us to the Ford dealer where we picked up our new Mustang, two days late. A car never looked so good in my life!
We had a good time getting lost in Cajun country, eating crawfish, and finding out what the 5.0 would do, but that's another story.
