BOD clarifies Solo supps for 2015

Post by springfielddyno » Sun Sep 13, 2015 8:18 pm

There was a typo/missing information in the 2015 supps and it was corrected and approved by the BOD in the September meeting. The number of events that count for DOY was left blank. This was corrected (its the same as class champions) and the supps are pasted below. Opie and I would have loved it if there were no drop events to help close the gap to Mark, but even then I don't know if there is any catching him! Anyway, corrected supps follow:::::::

Every person entering the event as a driver must have a valid driver’s license and must be prepared to show it at any time during the event. OMR events are meant to be fun and SAFE. Actions deemed unsafe by the SSS and Event Chairman will not be allowed, and the person who has committed the unsafe act, depending on the severity of the action, will at a minimum be warned to not continue with such behavior and at a maximum be disqualified for all future OMR Region events (pending BOD approval). Some examples of behavior that is not allowed: speeding through the grid, having any portion of your body outside of the car, moving your car while a cart is on the course, or “donuts”/burnouts whether on course, the grid, or even entering or leaving the event.

No more than two drivers may enter the same vehicle unless approved by the Event Chairman. A driver may not enter more than one vehicle. All drivers are responsible for fulfilling work assignments as determined by the Event Chairman. Failure to work may result in disqualification and/or loss of points and/or disqualification from future events.

If a vehicle is deemed too loud by 2/3rds of the following officials - Event Chairman, Solo II Safety Steward, and Chief Technical Inspector - its driver may be required to correct the noise level before being allowed to compete. Enforcement of this rule is necessary to maintain the availability of our current event sites. Remember these positions are all enthusiast and if you are approached, your car is truly too loud. It is understood this is subjective and no sound meter/readings are required.

Entry fees are determined and published (web, entry, etc.) by the BOD. Those who cannot show positive proof of SCCA Membership as well as Non-members will pay non-member rate and may be required to complete a Weekend Membership form.

Drivers may be awarded a trophy for placement at any of the individual OMR Region points event based on the following criteria per SCCA rulebook Awards section

“One award for one to three entrants in a class; two awards for four
to six entrants in a class; three awards for seven to nine entrants in
a class; one additional award for every four additional entrants or
fraction thereof (e.g., six awards for 18 entrants).”

The Divisional Event held at Crowder will count as a single OMR Region points event.

OMR Region will allow a single passenger per vehicle. The vehicle must have passed tech inspection. The passenger must wear a helmet that qualifies under SCCA regulations. The passenger must wear a seatbelt, and the passenger must be at least 12 years-old, have a properly signed Minor Waiver and the parent/guardian brings a helmet of the correct size for them that is rated Snell 2000 or newer (we have no junior-size helmets as loaners).

Class Championship Points will be awarded to each SCCA member for placing within an OMR Points event. The best 6 scores received during the season will be used to determine Class Champion. Any person must have competed in four OMR Region Points events and the driver must be a full member of the SCCA to be eligible, but non OMR members can keep members from earning higher position points (example: If a non-member wins an event, then 1st place points are not awarded to a member for that event). In the case of a tie at the end of the season, the award will be given to Driver with the most 1st places. If there is still a tie it will go to the Driver with the most 2nd places and so on.

1st place 15 points 6th place 5 points
2nd place 12 points 7th place 4 points
3rd place 10 points 8th place 3 points
4th place 8 points 9th place 2 points
5th place 6 points 10th place 1 point

Autocrosser of the Year will be awarded to the driver who collected the most point from any and all classes that driver competed in that year. The best pax 6 scores received during the season will be used to determine the AOTY Champion. Autocrosser of the Year must be a full member of the SCCA to be eligible. The points will be awarded based on PAX score. PAX multipliers will be adopted from the Chicago Region SCCA. In the case of a tie it will be given to Driver with the most 1st places. If there is still a tie it will go to the Driver with the most 2nd places and so on. Non OMR members can keep members from earning higher position points (example: If a non-member wins an event, then 1st place points are not awarded to a member for that event).

1st place 15 points 6th place 5 points
2nd place 12 points 7th place 4 points
3rd place 10 points 8th place 3 points
4th place 8 points 9th place 2 points
5th place 6 points 10th place 1 point

Rookie of the Year will be awarded to a driver who competed in no more than three previous SCCA Sanctioned Solo II events. The driver must inform the Registrar of their intention to compete for the Rookie of the Year. The driver must be a full member of the SCCA by their third OMR Points event to be eligible. Points for Rookie of the year will be awarded for points gathered during OMR Points events and will be scored using their PAX placement. The drivers competing for Rookie of the Year will have their PAX scores separated from those not competing to determine their placement. The following points will be awarded for placement. . In the case of a tie it will be given to Driver with the most 1st places. If there is still a tie it will go to the Driver with the most 2nd places and so on.

1st place 15 points 6th place 5 points
2nd place 12 points 7th place 4 points
3rd place 10 points 8th place 3 points
4th place 8 points 9th place 2 points
5th place 6 points 10th place 1 point

These supplemental rules may be modified at any time during the year as required to meet new circumstances. BOD approval is required to change the supps, and The BOD determines the effective date of the changes.

"No more than two drivers may enter the same vehicle unless approved by the Event Chairman."

So, when does the approval need to take place? Was this a new rule, or do we need to do anything different this coming season if we run 3 people in a car?

this rule has been in the supps for years... THe purpose is to keep the event moving and to comply with the 5 minutes between car runs rule.

You need to get permission prior to the event... I think where it would be a problem is when they are all in the same heat... We wouldn't be able to do 3 drivers in a single car in a single heat...
