The current idea is this.

on a Friday night have a SS school. Saturday and Sunday test and tune d-header.

good idea? bad idea? make you voice known!

this would be a first event of the year kind of thing. and I think we should advertise it nationally and invite as many regions as we can to attend.

As someone who would be taking the "class" I would like to vote for this option!

The two-event weekend works well for those who come in from a ways out of town to race only. For someone from Little Rock, KC, or STL, it makes it worth the drive.

However, from the standpoint of a potential SSS, it would be a long weekend. I know there is interest from the nether-reaches of the OMR viewing area to become SSS. Those of us in NW Arkansas and SE Kansas would be in town two nights (plus, off work at five, then a two-hour drive), when the trainee two-event requirement can met at any point within 12 months.

I have also seen us bitten by Saturday turnouts and iffy weather in the past. I might recommend a Saturday SSS school, BBQ/cookout, test-n-tune, then a season event in short order, maybe separated by a two/three-week gap.

I agree with Jim. A Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday is tough. Gotta save those types of weekends for track days.
