Kansas City SCCA Novice Autocross School - Saturday, May 22

Post by JimR » Wed Apr 07, 2010 7:48 am

If you couldn't afford or attend the excellent Evolution driving school we hosted at Neosho a few weeks ago, Kansas City Region SCCA is hosting their own autocross school on Saturday, May 22.

Guided instruction is the best upgrade you can make, no matter where you get it. Their class size is capped at 30, so check 'em out sooner than later.

Hey OMR, As the Chair of this event im wanting to see some OMR members present. So get this, We did this same format with the KC BMW School and as a BMW Event it WAS called "Drive Till You Drop Autocross School" So i was recruited to run this exact same format via SCCA (Its cheaper for you all this way!!!)

so 2 student heats in AM and PM. Also ride with instructors in their cars and see the difference. It will be fast paced (that's how i roll). Instructor Ratio is to be a One On One! only 1 instructor per student per heat... Big deal.. We have many Trophy Winners as instructors so Get registered!

So its supposed to be 12 events or less but! I suspect we wont fill it with Newbs so stay tuned OR simply put in 12 or less events when registering. SHHHHHH! LOL

AND There is an event the next day so you can make it a Weekend.....!!!

MCC is a pretty cool Venue although not your typical AX it is just as fun if not more so... Miniature Road Race.....

This would be fantastic follow up to the Evo School you all just had.... And cheap!

The BMW school last year was cool. I would consider doing it again! Great value too.

I've been trying all day to get registered for this. First I couldn't get registered because the site kept timing out and giving me "OOPS! Error messages. Then it wouldn't let me register because it said I had to have less than 13 Events experience. So I changed it to 5-12, and then it said I wasn't an SCCA Member. We expire at the end of this month but are sending payment ASAP this week to be sure we get renewed. I can't get around that part, but I don't think we should have to pay the extra fee for a weekend membership when we ARE current SCCA Members.

That brings me to the next problem of the late fee. Are we gonna have to pay a late fee because we have more than 13 events experience and it just now opened up to everyone? I REALLY don't wanna pay for a weekend membership if I gotta pay late fees too.

Meanwhile, I'm just hoping the School doesn't fill up while I continue to wait for an answer from someone about how to get the silly registration completed.

Two items:

The registration is forcing you to a) - Lie about your experience (5-12).
And b) - Requiring the $5 weekend membership.

Also, most everything shows "sold out" but items like Event Chair, Tech, SSS (which Jeanie and I are both Qualified for, BTW), etc. We would have no problem SSS'n if you have no problems with it.

(in case this is confusing, the previous post is from Jeanie, and this one is from Scott - who is about to leave for home from Work  )

(And Jeanie - note the date for late-fees - MAY 12)

just went through this myself...

Ok, so i will have to have the 1-12 experience level removed or the ability to add 15+ or whatever. will repost..

Pertaining to picking worker assignment refers to Sundays event only. Basicly everyone works course except for a Starter (need experience). So i believe (let me check) you can do Heat SS but be carfull of picking SSs due to the Event SS needing to be there all day long. We have a Event SS and Heat SS so Event SS can run too. So all of the course work assignments and closed?

The SCCA member expires prior to the event so yes they will ask for the 15bucs. renew it and try again........

I will look into this so stay tuned..

:D

The minimum experience level check has been removed. It was done this morning as I had missed one of them.
If they are SCCA licensed Solo Safety Stewards they are welcome to choose that. Heat 3 work positions are almost completely open and "Registrar's Choice" is never sold out.
