MIG shielding gas

Post by flogger » Tue Mar 01, 2016 12:58 pm

I've finally gotten around to buying a replacement MIG welder since selling my old industrial sized MillerMatic before I moved here. It was too big and heavy to justify moving. Anyhow, I've got a new machine, but I need shielding gas and a bottle. I figure 40-80 cu ft of 75/25 Argon/CO2 would suit my current needs. Any suggestions for best suppliers around here (Springfield area)? Also, I'd rather own the bottle than lease it, but I don't know what the hot ticket is around here. Anyone?

I'm ready for the same Scott, been using flux core wire too much for everything and need to go with gas.

If I remember Tractor Supply might have it, or Race Brothers.

Thanks, Don. I'll probably bend your ear a little more at tomorrow night's board meeting as I haven't had a chance to address this yet.

I typically use air gas. No idea how they compare in price. We used race brothers one time in a pinch.
