Minutes of the Ozark Mountain Region BOD, 12/8/09

Members present: Curtis Wood, Jim Rowland, Sam Henry, Matt Gilson, Jeff Moore, Bud Weeks, solo committee representative Matt Longpine, and a host of OMR members.

Motion to waive the reading of the minutes by Jeff, second by Sam.  Passed.

Motion to delay temporarily the treasurer’s report by Jeff, second by Sam.  Passed.

Ballots for the 2010 OMR BOD election were counted by Jim and Bud.  The four OMR members who get the most votes will sit on the 2010 OMR board.  Those four, in alphabetical order, are Sarah Huffman, Matt Longpine, Jeff Moore, and Curtis Wood.  The three carryover members are Sam Henry, Jim Rowland, and Bud Weeks.

Discussion of Evolution Performance Driving School that OMR plans to offer on March 27-28.  Travel expenses of the instructors are currently open-ended.  It was discussed that a cap could be put on these expenses.  Entry fees to be priced so as to be a service to members.
Motion to approve $200 for the deposit to Evolution by Matt, second by Bud.  Passed.

Treasurer’s report: current balance $XXXX.  Discussion that OMR has many good things to show for from 2009.
Motion to approve report by Jeff, second by Matt.  Passed.

Discussion of Year-end Awards Banquet.  The two viable sites available for the banquet are the Elks Lodge and the Doubletree Hotel.
Motion to set the date of Jan, 16 for the banquet by Jeff, second by Matt.  Passed.
Motion to explore the Elks Lodge for the banquet by Jeff, second by Matt.  Passed.
Motion for a subcommittee of Sarah and Matt L. to work out a menu by Matt G., second by Jeff.  Passed.
Discussion that a notice will be sent out the last Monday of Dec. for the banquet.
Motion to set the cost at $15 per person by Jeff, second by Bud.  Passed.

Discussion that who gets awards for 2009 including Solo II classes will be addressed at next month’s BOD meeting.  Discussion of what to award to this year’s class winners.  Last year’s class awards were folding chairs at $20 each.  Also discussed was the idea of having a drawing for the class winners of a cash award or a gift certificate.
Motion to award shirts with an embroidered logo that would cost approximately $20 by Matt, second by Jim.  Passed.  Sam to check out suppliers.
Motion to recommend a $200 gift certificate for a drawing for class winners by Curtis, second by Matt.  Passed.

Discussion of 2010 Solo schedule.  The Evo School is set for March 27-28 at Crowder and the Midiv event at Crowder is set for April 24-25.
Motion to hold regional events at Ducks on March 21 and on May 16 by Matt, second by Curtis.  Passed.  A June 13 event is tentatively planned.  The rest of the schedule to be determined.
