Minutes of the Ozark Mountain Region SCCA BOD meeting of Oct. 1, 2013.  Members present: Tim Datema, Jeff Moore, Justin Huffman, Matt Longpine, Sam Henry, and Bud Weeks, with 8 other members and guests present.
 
Call to order: Assistant RE Tim Datema.
 
Bill Rinke was present and he introduced Joe Rickman who is a MoDOT District Traffic Engineer and chairman of the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety.  Mr. Rickman gave an impassioned talk about highway safety and seat belt use, and he will be assisting OMR's Street Survival School and will address the students during the school.  He will be bringing the "seat belt convincer," the "rollover simulator," and "blood alcohol goggles" with "pedal carts."
 
Treasurer's report: Motion to accept report by Justin, second by Matt.  Passed.
 
Secretary's report: motion to waive reading of the minutes by Matt, second by Justin.  Passed.
 
Rallycross report: recent event was a "nice time" with 12 entries including 4 from St. Louis and 2 from Oklahoma.  Sam reports he is going to the Rallycross Nationals.
 
Road racing: Sam reported on Runoffs.
 
Solo report: Justin says that the large lot at Crowder is now open for our use and the Oct. 13 event will be held there.  Discussion about adding an another event at Crowder this year.
Motion to cancel the Nov. 3 Ducks solo and move it to Oct. 27 at Crowder College by Justin, second by Matt.  Passed.
Discussion of how to create an incentive for SCCA autocrossers to work as instructors at the Street Survival School.
Motion to reduce the entry fee for the Oct. 27 event to half price for any SCCA member who will volunteer to be an instructor for the Street Survival School on Nov. 2 by Tim, second by Justin.  Passed.
 
Street Survival School report:  more instructors will be needed.  The local fire dept. will be bringing a fire truck and OTC is bringing an 18 wheeler.  We will also need porta-potties and Justin will check with the supplier.
 
Discussion of sending a donation in memory of Ann Vogel.
Motion to send donation to the Animal Rescue Foundation of Tulsa of $50 by Bud, second by Tim.  Passed.
