Minutes of the Ozark Mountain Region SCCA BOD from August 5, 2014. Members present included but were not limited to Tim Datema, Sam Henry, Matt Longpine, Curtis Wood, Bud Weeks, Justin Huffman, Jeff Moore, Stan Bell, Forrest Tindall and his daughter, Justin Andrews, Scott Woosley and Don and Sue Wilson. Call to order: Tim. There was a general agreement that my previous volunteering of taking minutes would be fine. That, and I had paper and a pen... Waive reading of previous minutes motioned by Matt, seconded by Tim. Accepted. Treasurer's report: The MidDiv Solo event proceeds are yet to be realized, but are expected to be approximately equal to the fees of half of the entrants less $10 per head. Accept Treasurer's report motioned by Tim, seconded by Matt. Accepted unanimously. Solo report: Previous solo was cancelled due to unexpected maintenance on the big lot in Neosho. Word is that the joints have been sealed and damaged areas repaved. Justin's contact at Crowder says that the lot should be good to go now and that there's no need further waiting. Yay. A brief discussion was had about the wording of Regional rules wrt Solo points and dropping 2 events in calculating points totals vs. counting the 6 best event results. There was a general agreement that it's awkwardly written to handle the situation of a cancelled event like we've experienced this year, but we can't reasonably change the rules mid-season. No vote was taken. Announcement from Justin that Korry will be designing the next Solo course. There was a discussion wrt trailer delivery and logistics of Forest delivering the trailer to Neosho and coordinating with a rallycross event. The drop 2 Solo event results discussion was revisited but quickly dropped when Justin suggested a makeup event be added Saturday Sept 13, the day before an already scheduled Sunday autocross, assuming that the lot is available. A vote was taken to accept a rescheduled Solo event to be held Sept. 13 at Crowder College's "big lot" should Crowder's facilities be available for our use. Motioned by Matt, seconded by Curtis, accepted unanimously. Justin will check availability before we commit this to our schedule. Rallycross report: Per Stan - 7 entries registered so far for next Sunday's event. That indicates there should be enough to hold the event, but the more the merrier, so getting the word out to neighboring regions wouldn't be a bad idea. Matt said we need to test the photoeyes at the next rallycross to better determine which part of the system is giving false trips. Some logistics of much of the rallycross support equipment and supplies was discussed. Street Survival School report: Tim is working with Duck's Stadium to determine availability of the lot. Sam announced that Jennifer Henry has volunteered to handle food for the event. This was considered to be excellent news, and wide spread mumblings of gratitude spread throughout the room. :-) A sample of the new OMRSCCA logo was reviewed and passed around the room via Tim's iPhone. A vote was taken on Region paying the designer of the logo $75. Motioned by Justin, seconded by Matt, accepted unanimously Curtis reported that there is a regular Cars and Coffee event taking place in Springfield now. It's the first Saturday every month from 8AM-12AM on E Sunshine just east of Lone Pine and the Qdoba and McSalty's on the north side of the street. Besides being a good time, it was pointed out that the event includes a young contingent and that the demographics of both cars and people present seem to overlap our region. There may be some potential new SCCA members present there and recruitment possibilities exist. Motion to adjourn by Tim, seconded by Matt. Passed.
