Minutes of the Ozark Mountain Region SCCA Board of Directors from Dec. 2, 2014.
 
Members present: RE Tim Datema, Sam Henry, Bud Weeks, Curtis Wood, Justin Huffman, and Matt Longpine, with about 8 other members present and with one half-pint Longpine circulating through the crowd and enjoying herself.
 
Call to order: Tim.
 
Secretary's report: motion to waive the reading of the minutes by Sam, second by Tim.  Passed.
 
Treasurer's report: balance read, with one deposit for the last rallycross yet to be made, and with some amount owed for rallycross sanctions.  There is also $90 owed to the Four State Corvette Club.
Motion to accept report by Sam, second by Tim.  Passed.
 
Solo report: OMR is being asked to host another Midiv Solo event although no date has been suggested.  BOD discussed the idea of asking for a particular date and of setting a tentative solo schedule for the first few events so as to let Crowder College know early.  Justin will communicate with Al Hermans, Midiv Solo Steward, to suggest that OMR will host a Midiv event on June 13-14.  Also OMR will tentatively have solo events at Crowder College on March 29, April 19, and May 3.
Motion for OMR to host a Midiv solo on June 13/14 by Justin, second by Sam.  Passed.
 
Rallycross report: there are four rallycross sanctions to be paid.  Stan Bell, Rallycross Chair, will do audit reports and communicate to Sam the amount of the expense.  Also, a rallycross was tentatively scheduled for May 10.
 
Banquet report:  Matt is in contact with the Elks Club and will plan for a similar menu to last year which met with everyone's approval.  Sam is working on door prizes. 
Motion to invite the manager of the Crowder Truck Driving School and a guest, and the photographer and a guest, to the banquet by Justin, second by Bud.  Passed.
 
Awards report: the following are awards that will be presented at the banquet:
17 or 18 solo class champions, based on points.
3 rallycross class champions, based on points, with the possibility of one more if it can be verified that he is an OMR member.
Midiv solo champions that are OMR members, if any.  Justin will contact Al Hermans.
OMR Autocrosser of the Year, based on points.
Road Racer of the Year, Sam to figure points.
Road Race Rookie of the Year, probably not one this year.
Crewmember of the Year, to be awarded to Matt Longpine by acclamation.
Dave Pistole Sportsmanship Award, to be awarded to Sara Huffman.
Last of the Great Ones Award, to be awarded to Jeff Moore.
JD Rice Award, to be awarded by the RE.
Scroo-up of the Year Award, to be presented by Ted Wells.
 
Discussion about a solo rookie award and how to support new participants.  Another region has given SCCA memberships to new highly involved participants on their 5th event of their rookie year, which could be a valuable benefit to the region to bet new members.
 
Discussion of road racing points.  Because there have been changes in the way national points are given, there is a need to revise the points system for OMR Road Racer of the Year, and Road Race Rookie of the Year.
Motion for Sam to formulate a plan for revision of points by Jeff, second by Curtis.  Passed.
 
Discussion of the importance of having all the former winners of the Scroo-up of the Year Award listed on the new trophy.
 
Election of officers for 2015: carryover officers will be Tim Datema, Matt Longpine, and Justin Huffman.  Officers elected for 2015 are Sam Henry, Bud Weeks, Scott Woosley, and Justin Andrews.
