Minutes of the Ozark Mountain Region SCCA Board of Directors meeting on Nov. 4, 2014. Members present: RE Tim Datema, Curtis Wood, Jeff Moore, Sam Henry, Justin Huffman, and Bud Weeks, plus 9 other members and guests counting half-pints. Call to order: Tim. Secretary's report: motion made to correct last month's e-mailed minutes to reflect that 150 air gauges will be ordered instead of 100 by Tim, second by Curtis. Passed. Motion to waive the reading of the minutes by Justin, second by Jeff. Passed. Treasurer's report: Balance read. Solo audits are all paid but there are some rallycross audits that have yet to be paid. There is one last bill for porta-potties to be paid. Motion to accept report by Tim, second by Jeff. Passed. Rallycross report: Stan Bell, Rallycross Chairman, was not able to attend. Next rallycross scheduled for Nov. 16 at Lebanon, MO. Trailer is now at Stan's home but will be needed for the Street Survival School the day before the rallycross. Discussion of process of how and who to do audit forms for autocross and rallycross. The consensus was that the event chair should do the audits. Event chairs will be contacted to get forms completed. Awards Banquet report: date chosen is Jan. 17 at the Elks Club in Springfield. Motion to spend up to $500, with reasonable overages, for prizes by Tim, second by Curtis. Passed. Motion to subsidize the dinner so that dinner cost to each person is $10 by Jeff, second by Curtis. Passed. Rally report: annual Tombstone rally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8, with barbeque at the end at the Automotive Acheologist shop. Most members of the British Car Club will not be able to attend due to the death of Bill Rinke. Street Survival School report: scheduled for Nov. 15 at Ducks Stadium. Set up begins about 7AM. Currently there are 17 instructors and 14 students. MoDot will apparently not be able to come this year. The fire department will be present, and an air bag will be provided. The rooms used last year will not be usable due to roof leakage. Plan is to try to get the MO Highway Patrol to bring their rollover vehicle. The tire gauges ordered will be here on Monday and will be given out to students. The trailer will need to be moved and waivers are needed for each participant. Discussion of what meeting space to get including renting a tent, using the Belgian Waffle House, or finding meeting space in an office building that is nearby. Curtis to check on the office space and Jennifer Datema will check on the waffle house. Tim has checked on tents. There was also discussion of bringing compressors for air vs using an air hose at a nearby car wash. Curtis will bring oil for the tech checks of student cars. Autocross and rallycross awards discussion: several ideas were tossed around although it was obvious that most liked the insulated cups awarded last year. Motion to award personalized insulated cups by Jeff, second by Justin. Passed. Natasha Longpine will check. Other year-end awards discussion: board members asked to be thinking about who should receive the several OMR year-end awards such as the Dave Pistole Sportsmanship Award. Justin suggested that some special appreciation should be given to Korry Berger for setting up a number of autocross courses this year. Board of Directors membership for 2015: after some discussion it was decided that Matt Longpine, Tim Datema, and Justin Huffman will be the carryover members, and that Justin Andrews, Scott Woosley, Don Wilson, Sam Henry, and Bud Weeks will stand for election.
