Thanks, Jim. That matches the info I had at last Tuesday's board meeting, except for that I brought the Solo Match tour schedule (which is mostly irrelevant for our purposes), and I was missing the PDX events.

Yes, we have a conflict with the banquet and the MiDiv conference, but we had a BoD discussion about this and we're sticking with the 2/4/17 banquet date. We booked the facility months ago (and before we knew the Midiv conference dates) and expect that it's booked for other weekends in the near future. Also, the OMR banquet doesn't preclude people from attending classes and sessions at the Midiv conference, as it's being held right here in Springfield. In fact, I recommend attending it. Among other things, it'd be a great time to take a SSS class, as these are typically offered then and we could definitely use more SSSes. We'll see what they're offering this year. Maybe we can get some more OMR members from the outlying areas of our region to come up for the weekend and attend both the MiDiv convention and the OMR banquet. It may actually be advantageous to have both events scheduled on the same weekend.

Setting the 2017 OMR Solo season schedule will be one of the first orders of business when the newly elected/reelected board members are installed at the January board meeting.

What's up with having an autocross on May 21, the same weekend as a Mid Div solo in OKC?

OMR announced its Solo schedule before the OKC MiDiv date was known. The rest of the MiDiv schedule was tentative and on the radar, but OKC became known and official last.

I'm not in a position to remark on behalf of the OMR board, but I do know that all of the MiDiv Solo weekends are individual points events each day. If nothing changed, it's possible to get MiDiv series points on Saturday in OKC and OMR season points on Sunday.

Jim has represented what transpired WRT scheduling accurately. Also, his point about MiDiv's structure of a single MiDiv weekend = 2 MiDiv events allowing for more flexibility for our region's members was touched on when we revisited the OMR schedule after MiDiv's May 20-21 event was announced. The awkwardness of this, and the convention scheduling earlier this year, has led me to believe that we need to develop an inside track or contact to the plans of MiDiv. As it stands now, we don't really know what they're planning until they make it official. I don't know if it would have helped in the particular case of the May event because their decision came so late, but it's something we need to develop.
