Question is - Did you beat him by more than the 5 seconds from earlier this year?

NJ Scott. :)

Chris and I can understand that. On the opener in 2006 it had rained and that combined with patching made one group of transitions and turns especially "fun". Chris was still running his Kumho street tires I believe and I had my old Toyos. Sadly the Mustang got us that day. Memory serves that is was like second & half. We have not been able to avenge that loss yet - yet.

Then Chris, Nick Swanson and I went up for the 1st RallyX at Gateway and had rain mixed with 3 foot tall grass. Did we have fun - HELL YES !!!

That is why I get bummed out on the racing types that cower under at a little rain.

PS: Gateway has several RallyX dates coming up, maybe we should see how the Rabbit likes grass/dirt?

Sunday, June 15, 2008 Event #1 Madison, Illinois - Gateway Int. Raceway

Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008 Event #2 Madison, Illinois - Gateway Int. Raceway

Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008 Event #3 Madison, Illinois - Gateway Int. Raceway -- Divisional Championship event

Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008 Event #4 Madison, Illinois - Gateway Int. Raceway

Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008 Event #X Possible rainout/mudout date

Yeah, there were a lot of people who didn't even show for the second day and it turned out to be allright. It only rained while I was putting my R's on  but after that it was great. Scott and I thought the Nitto's would do fine since both our still had a lot of grooving left. Turns out R's were the right choice and I did better in my class the second day. It was funny, there was a "timing light" issue during which 95% of the heat 1 people ran and got their R's and threw them on...

It was a fun weekend despite the rain and I'd do it again!

First, I'd like to thank everyone who made the trip up to St. Louis. The timing light issue was really an AXWare timing software issue. The master computer in the timing truck was told it was day 2 of the event. The computers in the announce trailer didn't get the word over the network. So the remote computers somehow got the timing and competitior database files in the master computer overwritten. The data had to be input by hand in order to resume using AXWare. This will not happen next year even if we have to go back to no network and using an old laptop on Windows 95 and our old timing software. We have been having problems with AXWare since we bought it last year.

If we can identify the Cheif of Weather, he will be fired. So far, no admits to knowing the Chief of Weather let alone actually being the Chief of Weather. Our first event was coldand never made it out of the 30's. The second rained. The third was canceled due to port-a-potties blowing across the course. There was very heavy rain and 50mph winds.

I can completely understand the timing issue. We have had many issues with the software ourselves. As I was telling a fellow DSP competitor I've sent a "bug" report to the company after every event for new glitches I find. I did an inspection of your timing setup and Radio transmitter setup since both of those items have been giving me trouble this season...

Overall it was a lot of fun! I enjoy getting to drive in some "adverse" conditions now and then to test my troubleshooting skills. Other than wet feet all weekend I'd say it was a great time!

Yep, that's Nick!

I want to contest my day 2 final run. There was a freaking bird on the course and I didn't want to pay for repairs because of hitting a bird while doing my hobby... I have video of the freaking thing. It took place right at the beginning of the course so I say that run time was accurate, in fact even a little slower than it would have been, since my avoidance would have hurt my time rather than help it...

Stupid Red-Wing Blackbirds! Erradicate them all!!

Otherwise I had a lot of fun and was happy with my runs. Plus I got to see Scott spin out through the slolums. It was funny to hear the other corner workers in my area say,"How did he manage to spin out a FWD car?"

It's a VW! That's how! 8)

Yep that's my pax time. Stl has a street tire class for everybody that runs street tires in a r-comp allowed class. They take everybody's pax time to determine places. I got 2nd out of 15 and only missed 1st by a couple tenths.
I was pretty happy with the results considering i was on high performance all season toyos and got beat by a b stock 350z with azenis.

So, anybody going to KC on the 8th since our event was moved to the 22nd?
I am going to try and go. I've always heard their site is awesome.

I will be in KC for the 8th autoX and the 7th BMW School.

Taking the MR2, its a running car with the most tire.

Subie is getting a caliper rebuild, LS1 car need rear tires.

FP car is working but I don't think its very instructor friendly. Plus its going out to Hallet at the end of the month.

Nick,
Chris and I are registered.
Are you spending the night Saturday or driving Sunday AM?
We are signed up for 2nd Heat and trying get 1st heat work assignments so we can jet if necessary.
Heat 1 is getting 5 runs but is filled up so we have to settle for 4 runs in Heat 2 or 3 .

PS: I renewed my SCCA membership but I guess when you do so online it doesn't acknowledge any temp. membership discounts. :?

What site do you use to register for the KC event? I can't get kcrscca.org to come up right now. Otherwise I would have registered by now.
I'm not sure if I am going up the night before or the morning of. Kind of depends how the week goes. When are you and Chris going up?

Look at all those WRX's in ESP! Yee Haw!!. Now if I can just round up some r comps before the weekend. 1st I must see what it costs to replace my evaporator in my AC unit at the house on Monday.
