We are scratching our head. A friend took a picture of this car and asked what it was... no idea...
Looks like a Vauxhall Cavalier... but the wrong tail lights...
what do you think?

Sterling 827.
Seeing one in any condition is rare. One running is a unicorn.
Nice catch. You'd be more likely to see an Alfa 8C around town.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a Honda/Acura Legend in British clothing?

Huh. Just looks like a late-'80s Ford Escort with a spoiler from this angle, to me.........

Chris,
Did you catch that out in traffic photo of the Sterling in between light blinks, or was the tow truck so slow the hazard lights had already run the battery down ?

Hi Chris, I don't know if you have the right answer for the car picture you ran a few months ago but I was looking through some old books and found an unusually close match. In 2002, Rover came out with a "SD1" that matches perfectly with the body lines although the rear tailights are separated from the bumper a few inches. The crests on the wheels look the same and other than a rear spoiler it is a close match. The differences may be that the car in your picture is a newer model and has been "updated." Hope this helps.

Small world.
The car is now for sale if anyone wants it. Just bring $600 and a new head gasket.

Likely, that's only the beginning of the woes yet to befall this fine piece of British Steel......
