ATTENTION AUTOCROSSERS,

Ozark Mountain Region SCCA regrets to inform you that the regional Solo2 event on Sunday, 3/21/2010, is CANCELLED. Please help inform any friends, family, or potential entrants who might not have access to this message. The event will be rescheduled for Sunday, April 11th, at the same location.

The forecast for this weekend calls for freezing precipitation on Saturday night and possibly Sunday. More importantly, Sunday's forecast calls for steady 20 MPH winds from the North, with gusts up to 30 MPH. Not pleasant.

While these conditions would not physically prevent competition, similarly poor weather has historically provided turnouts too low to staff and operate with the quality we expect to provide you. We're going to play this one safe out of respect to the excellent support shown via pre-registration, with entrants representing drives from four different states.

Again, we arranged to reschedule the event for the same location at Crowder College in Neosho on Sunday, April 11. Please stay tuned to OMRSCCA.org and your local forums for a new registration announcement. Also, SCCA members mark your calendars for the first round of the Midwest Divisional Solo Series at Neosho on April 24-25! Online registration is fast approaching.

Thank you for your understanding and support!

Note: 2010 events will use online registration via MotorsportReg. Additional registration instructions here.

Event Information Car Numbers and Classes
Car Numbers are exclusive for the 2010 season, meaning only one person is allowed to run a number during the entire year no matter what class you are in (e.g. Car number 76 Matt L in ST, you would not be able to use 76 even if you ran a different class).
Amenities
There are gas stations, Wal*Mart, and fast food on Highway 59 about a mile North of the intersection of MO-D. There is no air available at the site, so prepare accordingly. We anticipate making lunch available on-site.

Directions from Springfield
Take I-44 to US 71 South, and exit at Highway 60 Neosho/Seneca. Go East to the light at US 59/71B (Wal*Mart will be on your right). Turn right to go South on 59, and follow the signs for Crowder College and Highway MO-D. Turn left onto MO-D, and it will take you straight to Crowder College. Once you reach the stop sign at the entrance of Crowder, turn right onto Doniphan and head towards the windmill. Turn left just past the windmill, and follow the SCCA signs and cones to the site.

Run / Work
We had roughly 80 entrants at the previous March event at Crowder. We are watching pre-registration to determine the number of heats. We expect a sizable turnout, so prepare in case of a three-heat format based on a first-come, first-served basis:

Work heat 1 / Drive heat 3
Work heat 2 / Drive heat 1
Work heat 3 / Drive heat 2

Work assignments will be balanced to ensure even work coverage for all stations in all heats. If you show up at the last minute, your choice may be full. If you show up late, you will not be able to participate at all!

See you there!

32 pre-reg'd so far!

Bud, I know you're out there - get on that list!

Also - Bob, Bud; are you guys running street tires, or gonna Hoosier it for this round? My own plan was to finish-up the Streets I've got on the car.

Just wanted to "level" the playing field here, if possible.

45 pre-registered so far, and WE HAVE 2 DAYS LEFT TO SIGN UP.

I have a couple of tips for everyone though:
  • Please ignore the website when it asks you to pay online to finish registration. You will still pay at the trailer the morning of the event.
  • Even if you are not 100% sure if you are going to be there it costs nothing to pre-register.
  • Besides making the registration run more smoothly the morning of the event (when you do decide to show up :)), this will enable you to get your assigned # for the entire season.
So please everyone pre-register on MotorsportsReg.com and convince anybody else that you know that is planning on attending, if you notice that they haven't yet. Thanks everyone.

Hey All,

Been a busy week, with taxes, getting the car ready, and trips out of town, so I am just now catching up.

Not that it matters now, but I thought I was signed up when in reality I wasn't. MototsportReg.com confused me, although I can get confused in other things just as well, but once Matt confirmed that I was in fact not registered, I saw what I should have done that I did not do. Are you still following me?

And yes, I will be on the Kumhos that came with the car for the first event or two. Lets call them training wheels.

Bud
